Kingston reigns again

We’re back in the winner’s circle and I couldn’t be more pleased for James Kingston.

The South African has always made the most of his talent and been a model professional so I wasn’t in the least bit surprised when he headed the field at the Investec Royal Swazi Open – his first win in three years.

James needed two extra holes and a 12-foot par putt to secure success and I am sure it will not be the last we will hear this season from the 40-something.

Lee Westwood also went some way to showing that life may begin for him again after reaching 40 with a very solid week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Fourth-place was his best finish of the season so far and could not have come at a better time as he looks to add The Players title to his long list of achievements in Jacksonville this week.

Joost Luiten was our top finisher in the Volvo China Open with an eighth place in Tianjin where Jeev Milkha Singh and Matt Baldwin both occupied places in the top-25, as did Simon Dyson and Shiv Kapur at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters in Jakarta.

Now I’m in Florida for The Players and it will be playing very long at Sawgrass after last week’s rain left parts of the course under water.

I’m sure it will all look pristine again by the time it hits your TV screens this week.
